On Tenerife I met a hang player called Rod. He plays the hang everyday in the park. We had coffee and talked about music. In the end he gave me his CD and allowed me to process his sounds with the remark that nobody owns the music. In his view music is like a seed that you sow. It flourishes and breeds and new things evolve. I was amazed by his trust and it made me think about our compulsion to control.
